Lady Golden Knights Off To Their First 'Frozen Four'

The Clarkson Golden Knights women's hockey team is headed to the NCAA Division I Frozen Four this weekend in Hamden, Connecticut. It's the Golden Knight's first trip to the Frozen Four in its 11-year history.

The Lady Golden Knights got a great send-off from an enthusiastic group of fans in Potsdam Wednesday. Clarkson takes a 29-5-5 mark into its national semifinal game Friday night against Mercyhurst.

"It's amazing to know we have the support of people around Clarkson University and the town of Potsdam," player Carly Mercer said. "It's great to see and we look forward to playing our best for all these people back home, too."

"We're just as proud of what they put in," coach Shannon Desrosiers said, "but it's great to have the community support and to see everyone here cheering them on as we hit the road."

The Lady Golden Knights earned the trip by beating Boston College 3-1.
