An Athlete that Shines on and off of the Field

Paul Puddington, a football star from Beaver River will continue his playing career at the Coast Guard next season.

While Puddington is a star on the field, he is also one off it.

On May 4th at a track meet at Jordan Elbridge High School where the Beaver River boys and girls were competing Puddington showed the true meaning of sportsmanship.

During the novice mile a special needs runner named Robert couldn't finish his run with a lap left to go, that is where Puddington jumped into action.

The Beaver River senior ran onto the track to run the last lap with Robert.

Soon more runners from the track teams joined in to help Robert finish the race.

The Coast Guard is getting a fine young man in Paul Puddington.
