Sports: Remembering Carmen Basilio


International Boxing Hall of Fame inaugural inductee Carmen Basilio has died at the age of 85.

Basilio was a former two time welterweight champion of the world and had 56 career victories.

The former champion may be remembered most for his 1957 win over "Sugar" Ray Robinson in Yankee Stadium.

Basilio was born in Canastota, New York and has many ties to the north country, including training in Alexandria Bay.

Flags are at half-staff at the International Boxing Hall of Fame for the boxing great.
