Mel's Blog:

It was a weekend that the Syracuse football program would like to forget...  First the announced crowd of 33 thousand looked more like the low 20s... And that was even giving away tickets to students and charging just 10 dollars for upper level seats...  The boo birds were out in force, with Greg Paulus the target...  Every time he took the field in the second half, he was greeted with a chorus of boos... Or maybe the fans were just saying duuuuke...  Then to top things off on Monday, star receiver Mike Williams quits the team... Oh let the good times roll...   At least Saturday was Halloween but it was no treat though for the Orange on that day...

Speaking of Halloween, it made me think back to my youth... I grew up in the sandflats, the west end of Watertown...  The two things I remember most about Trick or Treating was stopping at The old Morgia's Restaurant  for fresh cooked french fries in waxed paper bags, and then heading over to Spaziani's Pizza for a slice...  Now that's real Trick or Treating... Who needed candy when you had that stuff... Ah the good old days...  This is Mel Busler rounding third and heading home...
