Sports: Clarke Named Coach of New Hockey Team

Tools

It doesn't have a name, but it does have a coach.

Watertown's new minor league hockey team named Brent Clarke Wednesday night as head coach.

Clarke is no stranger to the job: he served as player-coach for the Watertown Privateers, during part of last season.

The new hockey team is owned by a group of local investors. It will play in the Federal Hockey League, starting this fall.

"It's a great honor to be named the first coach," Clarke said. "You're the first guy, you've got a lot of things on your plate, you've got to be in charge, get things going."

Also in sports, the Watertown Rams baseball team was rained out Wednesday night. The Rams are on the road tonight, but have home games Friday and Saturday.
