Sports: Orange Hopes to Kick Off the Season Running

The Syracuse Orange football team is ready to kick off their season Saturday against Northwestern.

Coach Doug Marrone recently released the team's depth chart announcing that Jerome Smith will be the team's starting tailback this year.

Smith beat out Prince Tyson Gulley for the starting job and will have the task of replacing thousand yard rusher Antwon Bailey.

Bailey graduated after last season.

The Orange will get their first chance to show off their new running game Saturday at noon against the Wildcats of Northwestern.
