CHILDREN'S EDUCATIONAL & INFORMATIONAL PROGRAMMING-
Every weekend WWNY 7News and WNYF FOX-28 broadcast programming specifically designed to inform and educate children. Programs teach the importance of strategic thinking, cooperation, teamwork, problem-solving, or the importance of family, friends and community. Quarterly, WWNY & WNYF file Children’s Programming Reports with the FCC, which identify these shows and their educational value. Interested parties may inspect these reports by visiting the stations during normal business hours or by clicking on the filing and station info links below.
CLOSED CAPTIONING COMPLIANCE-
Programming produced by and broadcast on WWNY or WNYF complies with the closed captioning requirements established by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in 47 C.F.R. Section 79.1 (j) (1). WWNY/WNYF further certifies that in the ordinary course of business, the stations have adopted and follow the Best Practices set forth in Section 79.1 (k)(1) and/or any programming not captioned meets one or more of the exemptions set forth in Section 79.1 (d).
CALM ACT CERTIFICATION-
This is to certify that:
1. Pursuant to Section 73.682 of Title 47 of the Code of Federal Regulations, all commercial advertisements and promotional announcements embedded in programs carried on WWNY & WNYF are in compliance with the loudness control practices contained in Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) A/85: Recommended Practice: Techniques for Establishing and Maintaining Audio Loudness for Digital Television (“ATSC A/85 Recommended Practice”).
2. Compliance with the ATSC A/85 Recommended Practice is determined by WWNY & WNYF through the use of equipment and associated software that is installed, utilized and maintained in a commercially reasonable manner.
