Watertown police have begun an investigation into the 2015 death of a city woman.

City police lieutenant Joe Donoghue confirmed the investigation for 7 News Saturday, but could provide no other details. The investigation was first reported Friday night by the Watertown Times.

Sarah R. Wale, 36, of Logan Street, drowned in her bathtub on August 28, 2015. The medical examiner, Dr. Samuel Livingstone recently changed the cause of death on Wale's death certificate to homicide.

The Watertown Times reported Friday the death certificate indicated Wale's head was restrained under water.

Wale was a licensed practical nurse, a graduate of Watertown high school and was employed for more than a decade at Samaritan Keep Home. She's survived by her husband, four children, parents and other relatives.
