Waterbury Fine Jewelers Says Goodbye

Waterbury Fine Jewelers Says Goodbye

Posted: Updated:

It's the last day for a downtown Watertown business that has been around for almost 30 years.

Waterbury Fine Jewelers opened in 1989 and it sold its last piece of jewelry Tuesday.

Owner Mark Waterbury says he has seen 5 other downtown jewelery stores come and go since he opened his.

The thought of retirement hasn't quite sunk in.

"It hasn't really hit me, but I know, like right now we're a little busy, and so I'm not thinking about that, but when I go home tonight and put my feet up, I'm gonna just go like, holy cow, it was a good run," said Waterbury.

Waterbury says what he'll miss most are his customers and other people in the jewelry industry.
