Watertown Girls Make & Sell Bracelets To Help Others

Posted: Updated:

It started with two little girls and one big idea.

Now it has spread through Watertown's Sherman Elementary School.

Sisters Molly and Avery Davidson are making "Believe Bracelets" to raise money to bring clean water to a village in the Dominican Republic.

They're doing this because they heard students were missing school to get clean water.

"Me and Molly just felt bad that they had to walk 2 miles twice a day just to get a little clean water," said Avery.

"It feels like we're helping, like we're making a change to the world," said Molly.

The idea has taken off.

Other schools in Watertown are adopting the project.

So far, they've raised close to $2,000 to build a well.

Their goal is $5,000.

The bracelets cost $5 each.
