Local Students Celebrate Black History Month

Posted: Updated:

February is Black History Month.

At Augustinian Academy in Carthage Thursday, students celebrated with songs and prayers and a timeless message.

"It's a message Dr. Martin Luther King used. It's a message that could be used today, 40 years later. The whole idea that we are all brothers and sisters and that we have an obligation to see Christ and all of our people to work to make the world a better place each and every day," said Father Don Robinson, pastor of St. James Catholic Church in Carthage.

In addition to celebrating black history month, students are also observing catholic schools week.
