North Country Christians Honor Ash Wednesday

Posted: Updated:

Christians across the north country celebrated Ash Wednesday.

People at Trinity Episcopal Church in Watertown got their ashes Wednesday afternoon.

Ash Wednesday is the lead-up to Easter and is a time of reflection for Christians.

"It's easy for us to forget who we are, it's easy to walk out in the world and think that the world is today's news or today's politics or today's need to go to work," the Rev. Dr. Richard Laribee said, "and this reminds us that there is a whole lot more to life."

Easter falls on April 16 this year.
