Harrisville Boys Ready For State Final Four

Posted: Updated:

It’s the Harrisville boys’ basketball team’s fourth trip to the state Final Four and players hope for their first state Class D title in Binghamton on Friday.

They face off in the semifinals against Newfield at 11:45 a.m.

The Pirates have plenty of confidence after defeating number-one Madison on Saturday.

The coach and players weren’t too surprised by the victory, with Coach Brian Coloney  noting the team has lately been on a pretty good roll.

“We played a tough schedule all year long,” he said. “In our own division, we had to play the likes of Heuvelton, Edwards-Knox — out of our league, we played IHC, Sackets Harbor, General Brown — so I think we were prepared to play someone like that.”
