The Heuvelton Lady Bulldogs are officially back-to-back-to-back Class D state champions after the team's state final victory in Troy Sunday morning.

When the Lady Bulldog's bus rolled back into Heuvelton, the team saw a very familiar site: the community greeted the players and coaches with cheers of pride and congratulations.

Many came out to celebrate.

"Our community's got a lot to be proud of and I've got to say it goes well beyond Heuvelton," Tom Nichols said. "The entire north country has come together."

"We're just so proud to be part of Heuvelton," Susan Todd said. "It's just amazing."

The Lady Bulldogs beat Panama in convincing fashion 78-54 to make it three straight state Class D championships.

Tournament MVP Paige McCormick once again lead the way with 31 points, one of five starters in double figures.

The 27-1 Lady Bulldogs join Tuxedo and Pine Valley as the only Class D teams to ever win three straight crowns.
