Arraignment Postponed For IR Coach Accused Of Choking Player

Posted: Updated:

The Indian River baseball coach accused of putting one of his players in a choke-hold was in court Wednesday night, but his arraignment was postponed.

Forty-six year old Lloyd Kevin Smith's arraignment was scheduled in Philadelphia town court, but it was postponed because both justices are school employees.

Smith is charged with endangering the welfare of a child after he allegedly choked a 16 year old player into unconsciousness.

The player fell and hit his head on a glass and metal door.

Police said it happened in the locker room just before baseball practice.

The teen went to baseball practice, but was later diagnosed with a concussion.
