There are plans to hold three block parties on Watertown's Public Square this summer.
The north side of the Square would be shut down to traffic to make way for music, games and other attractions.
"The idea is to make it as pedestrian-friendly as possible," city council member Mark Walczyk said. "People can park in the J.B. Wise parking lot, hang out in the Square, walk around with their family and friends -- a big community event."
The dates for the block parties in the square are June 30, July 28, and August 25. Those are all Fridays and the events will run from 5 to 10 p.m.
