Croghan Council Member Seeks Lewis Legislature Seat

Posted: Updated:

Town of Croghan council member John V. Lehman will run for the Lewis County legislature seat now held by Philip Hathway.

Hathway, a Republican, announced earlier this month he won't seek re-election to the legislature, where he's represented District 1 for the last eight years.

Lehman, a Republican, has been a member of the Croghan town council for five years. He also served on the Beaver River school board for eight years and for 18 years has been on the executive committee of Teamsters Local 687. Lehman is employed by the Village of Carthage as a sewage plant operator.

Hathway is one of three Lewis County legislators not seeking re-election: legislature chairman Mike Tabolt is bowing out, as is legislator Craig Brennan, both Republicans.
