Republicans Field Three For Legislature

And then there were three.

There are now three Republicans lined up to run for seats on the Lewis County legislature this fall, to replace three Republicans who are not seeking re-election.

Brenda Chartrand, a Croghan resident who retired a little less than a year ago from the Lewis County Department of Social Services, will seek the seat now held by Mike Tabolt. Tabolt is the current legislature chairman, and represents District 2.

"This is a first for me," Chartrand said Wednesday. She said Tabolt called her and asked her to consider running. "I'm more than willing to learn," she said.

Ron Burns, the retired president of Viking Cives in Harrisville, will run for the District 4 seat now held by Craig Brennan. Burns lives in the Town of Denmark.

"I'd like to contribute to the community," Burns said Wednesday.

7 News reported Tuesday that John V. Lehman, a member of the Croghan town council, will seek the District 1 seat now held by Philip Hathway.
