JRC Moving WorkshopPosted: Updated:
Jefferson Rehabilitation Center's (JRC) "Production Unlimited" work program is moving from its longtime home on West Main Street in Watertown to an empty factory on Bradley Street.
JRC is moving to the new location on Bradley Street to comply with a state mandate that requires sheltered workshops top hire people with and without developmental disabilities.
"We'll be able to set up our lines for production efficiently and effectively, we're gonna have better conditions down in the new building. This was an old building, so everybody's looking forward to it," said Deborah Vink, JRC director of vocational services.
The non-profit will be moving Production Unlimited into the old Northland Motor Technologies plant. Aside from Production Unlimited, the building will house a JRC-run UPS store, and two other JRC programs.
JRC hopes to make the move between mid-May and June 1.
