A Lewis County man is accused of entering his landlord's camping trailer, taking the landlord's personal items, and then burning them in the backyard.

Lewis County sheriff's deputies say 35 year old Joseph Kittleman entered the camper, which was on rental property on Moose River Road in Port Leyden on April 2.

He was located and arrested on Rugg Road in the town of Leyden on May 9.

Kittleman was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, and fifth-degree arson.

He was also charged with first-degree criminal contempt after deputies discovered the landlord had an order of protection against him.

Kittleman was arraigned in Lyonsdale town court and sent to jail on $2,500 bail.
