Volunteers Needed To Finish Playground At Thompson Park

Volunteers Needed To Finish Playground At Thompson Park

Posted: Updated:

A new playground is taking shape at Watertown's Thompson Park, but it still needs your help.

On Tuesday, we found contractors installing major pieces of the playground.

This coming weekend is when the community pitches in.

Organizers are looking for 600 volunteers to work Friday and Saturday to finish it up.

They'll be installing smaller playground pieces and moving materials.

"Some mulch, some stone, pouring some concrete, building a few of the playground pieces. We've got some of the bigger pieces that the contractor did, some of those smaller pieces for the community, that's what we've got for us to build," said Chris Andiorio, organizer.

Volunteers are especially needed Friday from 4-7 p.m. and Saturday, from 1:30 to 7 p.m.

You can just show up, but registering would be appreciated by visiting thompsonparkplayground.org.
