Speeding Stop Leads To DWI Charge

A Fort Drum man is accused of driving drunk after he was allegedly clocked driving nearly 90 miles an hour on Route 11.

Jefferson County sheriff's deputies say 21 year old Charles Gille was driving 87 miles per hour in a 55 mile-per-hour zone in the town of LeRay.

Deputies say his blood alcohol content was .14 percent, which is nearly twice the legal limit of .08 percent.

Gille was charged with speeding and driving while intoxicated.

Deputies issued Gille a ticket and we was turned over to Fort Drum officials. He will appear in LeRay town court at a later date.
