Kmart has given official notice that it's closing its Watertown store as required by law.
According to its Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, 57 workers will lose their jobs.
The layoffs will begin September 4 and the store will permanently close by the end of the month.
Kmart will begin its liquidation sale on June 15.
The New York Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, or WARN Act, requires certain employers to notify their workers in advance in the event of a mass lay-off or office/plant closure.
