Diocese of Ogdensburg Launches Its Biggest Capital Campaign Ever
The Diocese of Ogdensburg has kicked off the largest capital campaign in its history.
The diocese wants to raise $15 million over a four year period.
Three quarters of the money raised will be spread among its 91 churches and a quarter goes to the diocese.
It won't be a typical capital campaign; the money won't focus on buildings.
“This is a lot more program based and looking to the future needs of the church as we lose priests and lay people have to step up and take more responsibility for their churches,” said James Crowley, chancellor of the Diocese of Ogdensburg.
The first batch of parishes to step up will propose projects during the winter. Those chosen will get money for projects in the spring.
