Kick Stands Up to Raise Money for Area Man Fighting Cancer

Posted: Updated:

A beautiful Saturday in the north country meant kickstands up for the Bill Gould Memorial ride at F.X. Caprara Harley Davidson in Adams Center Saturday morning.

The ride hosted by the American Legion Riders usually raises money for general cancer research, but this year money is being raised for former WWNY anchor Mark Mason, who is battling Glioblastoma brain cancer.

"Kind of one hand washes the other," Bill Gould, Mark's cousin said. "The money goes to cancer anyways so what better person than someone in our own community."

A guitar built by Mason was also up for auction. The money raised from Saturday's event will help Mason with travel costs for experimental treatment at Duke University in North Carolina.
