A 13 year old Watertown area girl was listed in fair condition Monday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle.
Angel Howard was airlifted to SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse Friday after she was hit by sports utility vehicle on Route 283 in the town of LeRay, which is where she lives.
Watertown school officials said Howard just completed the 7th grade at Case Middle School.
Principal Terry Gonseth said the school is coordinating efforts to raise funds for Howard and the staff is also taking up a collection.
State police said Howard ran into the roadway and was struck by an SUV driven by 37 year old Michael Blair of Gouverneur.
The SUV swerved off the road and overturned. The people inside the vehicle - Blair and two passengers - were unhurt.
