I-81 Accident Victim Laid To RestPosted: Updated:
A first responder who died in a tragic auto accident with two co-workers on Interstate 81 last week was laid to rest Monday.
Those who knew him say Gregg Williams always rushed to the aid of others.
Family and his fellow first responders were at his side Monday.
An R.B. Lawrence Ambulance led the way from services in Canton to the cemetery in Hermon.
The DeKalb Junction man worked at the ambulance company as a part-time driver after a long career as a maintenance engineer.
R.B. Lawrence, owner RB Lawrence Ambulance: “He was really a devoted, reliable, dependable employee that we just are going to miss terribly," his employer, R.B. Lawrence, said. "He really enjoyed his job and you could tell he did.”
Williams and two other employees died after their car hit a jackknifed tanker on their way home from transferring a patient.
Roderick Cota and Corey Moore will be laid to rest Tuesday.
