Memorial Honors Fallen Trooper

Memorial Honors Fallen Trooper

Posted: Updated:

A roadside memorial was set up outside of Broken Spur Ranch on Route 26 in Theresa to honor Trooper Joel Davis, who was shot and killed in the line of duty.

An American flag was set at half staff.

Former town of Theresa Judge Roger Duvall was a colleague and close friend of Davis and his family.

He says the memorial is just a small way to pay tribute to such a great man.

"He was a great friend -- he believed in people, he honored people, he trusted you first," Duvall said. "And making this memorial by lowering this flag, it is just to show that we need to honor someone that we should all live to emulate."

Duvall is hoping the roadside memorial will help give people a place to pay tribute.
