A town of Potsdam man is accused of holding a woman down so she couldn't call authorities.

St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies say 42 year old William Pena of County Route 35 allegedly held the victim in a chair by her arms to stop her from calling 911.

Deputies say it happened Wednesday during a domestic argument.

He was charged with second-degree harassment and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Pena was released to appear in Potsdam town court at a later date.
