Stabbing Suspect Offered Plea Deal

Stabbing Suspect Offered Plea Deal

Posted: Updated:

A plea deal may be in the works for a 22 year old Potsdam man accused of stabbing another man under a bridge.

Russell Snyder III was in St. Lawrence County Court Thursday.

He was arrested in May after Canton-Potsdam Hospital reported treating a patient with cuts and stab wounds.

On Thursday, Snyder was given time to consider a plea bargain.

"Mr. Snyder was provided an offer from the people based on what the victim wanted to see happen. The victim did want to see some incarceration. He also wanted to have some restitution so we provided that offer and we'll let Mr. Snyder determine whether he wants it," said District Attorney Mary Rain.

Right now there is no timetable for Snyder to give his answer.
