Posted: Updated:

Lake Ontario has dropped 12 inches since June. Now the outflow is going to be scaled back.

It happens at midnight Tuesday.

For the past several weeks, the dams at Massena have let water out at 10,400 cubic meters per second - a record.

The International Lake Ontario - St. Lawrence River Board of Control indicates as soon as Tuesday, the outflow could be cut to 9,900 cubic meters per second, which is also a record flow for this time of year.
