Carthage Woman Pleads Guilty In Meth Lab Case

A 49 year old Carthage woman has pleaded guilty in connection with an active one-pot meth lab.

Cindy Childers appeared in Jefferson County Court Tuesday and pleaded guilty to third-degree attempted unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine.

She was arrested April 19.

Carthage village police pulled her over during a traffic stop and said they found several materials and equipment used to make meth inside the car. They said they also found quantities of meth and marijuana.

Childers was originally charged with:

- Unlawful possession of marijuana
- Third-degree manufacture of methamphetamine
- False inspection certificate
- Drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle
- Seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance

Childers will be sentenced September 5.
