Police Identify Pedestrian Killed On Lewis County Highway

State Police have released the name of the woman who was struck and killed while crossing a highway in Lewis County.

She is identified as 50 year old Bridget Weir of Kingston, New York.

Police said no criminal charges are expected to be filed against the driver who struck Weir.

Troopers said Weir was in a tractor trailer that pulled to the side of Route 12 in the town of Lyons Falls around 1:30 a.m. Monday.

According to police, Weir was crossing the road to get to a restroom when she was struck by a pickup truck driven by 29 year old James Ashley of Massena.

She was taken by helicopter to a Utica hospital, where she died.
