A 29 year old Gouverneur woman is accused of substituting phony DVDs for the real thing and returning it to a Redbox kiosk.

State police charged Kari Horne with misdemeanor counts of third-degree criminal tampering and petit larceny.

On May 4, Horne is alleged to have substituted a fraudulent DVD for a real one and returned it to a Redbox kiosk located in Evans Mills.

Police said Horne did the same thing on numerous other occasions at multiple Redbox kiosks or failed to return movies.

Horne was issued a ticket to appear in courts in the towns of LeRay and Watertown.
