Morning Checkup: Anxiety & Depression In Children

Morning Checkup: Anxiety & Depression In Children

Posted: Updated:

Children show symptoms of anxiety and depression very differently from the way adults do.

Dr. Jason Lulejian is resident psychiatrist at Samaritan Medical Center. He talked about the differences during the hospital's Morning Checkup segment on 7 News This Morning.

You can see his interview in the video.

He says adults look for adult symptoms of anxiety and depression and often fail to recognize it in their children.

The first step, he says, is for parents to talk to their children about how they feel then, if necessary, contact their primary care physician.
