JRC Needs Help Building Playground

Posted: Updated:

The Jefferson Rehabilitation Center is looking for help building a new playground.

The JRC's Michelle Carpenter explained the JRC needs a new playground that's  better suited for children with disabilities, so they gave the old playground to Faith Fellowship to make room for the new one.

You can see her 7 News This Morning interview in the video.

JRC needs help from volunteers the days of the build -- Friday, August 25 and Saturday, August 26 -- and also from a contractor beforehand.

A contractor's help is needed for digging holes for footings.

Work the days of the build include shoveling. pouring concrete, assembling equipment, and cleaning up the site afterward.

The JRC Foundation is also hosting a golf tournament next month.

The Sue Day Memorial Golf Tournament will be Friday, September 8. There's space for four more teams.

Registration is at 8 a.m. and tee time is at 9 a.m.

Call 315-836-1361 to sign up for either the playground work or the golf tournament.
