There's a benefit & fishing derby coming up to raise funds for a Clayton native who's fighting cancer.

Samantha Veith and TJ Leconey appeared on 7 News at Noon on Tuesday to talk about it.

They're both former high school classmates of David Marshall, who's battling Stage 4 cancer.

The benefit and bass fishing derby will be held the weekend of August 25-27.

Registration for the derby takes place at the Clayton Fire Hall Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. It's $20 per person to enter.

Prizes will be awarded.

The benefit will take place Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the fire hall.

For more information or to make a donation, call TJ Leconey at 315-778-8465 or Samantha Veith at 315-778-9702.
