Event Draws Awareness To Overdose Deaths

Alliance for Better Communities is holding and Overdose Awareness and Remembrance event.

The alliance's Anita Seefried-Brown says there will be a memorial of 144 empty shoes to represent the 144 people nationwide who die each day from opiate overdoses.

The event is from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 30 under the overhang at Watertown City Hall.

There will be various speakers and a performance by Eddie Cito.
