April Through August Was North Country's Wettest On Record

The period between April and August 2017 is the wettest on record for the north country.

According to the Northeast Regional Climate Center, from April to August, Massena got 23.82 inches of rain.

Normal is 16.5 inches. This breaks the record set in 1993 by just over an inch.

The center has been keeping records in Massena since 1948.

Watertown got 24.75 inches of rain between April and August. That's 10 inches more than normal.

It breaks the record set in 2014 by almost 2 inches. Records have been kept since 1949.

Lowville saw the most rainfall between April and August, getting 28.9 inches of rain. Normal is 17.28 inches.

This year breaks the old record set in 2000 by more than 3 inches.

The center has been keeping records in Lowville since 1891.
