Former Clayton Mayor Accused Of Sex Acts With Teen

Posted: Updated:

A former Clayton mayor is accused of engaging in sex acts with a teenager.

Jefferson County sheriff's deputies say 78 year old Dale Kenyon of 664 Riverside Drive in Clayton allegedly engaged in sexual acts with a 14 year old between 2009 and 2012.

Deputies say the charges stem from a criminal report made to the sheriff's office.

In 2011, Kenyon faced charges of endangering the welfare of a child after he allegedly exposed himself to a neighbor's children.

Deputies say Kenyon was indicted this week on 22 counts of third-degree criminal sexual act and was arraigned on a warrant Thursday.

He was jailed on $10,000 bail.

According to the village of Clayton, Kenyon served as mayor from December 1995 through December 2003, and again from December 2005 through December 2007.

This investigation is continuing and deputies ask anyone with information to call Detective Judy Goodman 315-786-2677.
