Counterfeit Money Suspect's Bail Set

Posted: Updated:

Bail is set at $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond for a Buffalo woman accused of passing counterfeit $100 bills at Watertown businesses.

Thirty-two year old Stephanie Izevbizua was arraigned Friday in Jefferson County Court.

Earlier in the week, a grand jury indicted her on 17 counts of first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

Watertown police say Izevbizua used a counterfeit $100 bill to buy a prepaid Visa card at the Dollar General on Eastern Boulevard.

Police say she also had three other counterfeit $100 bills when she tried to use the card at the Rite Aid on State Street.
