When the eye of Hurricane Irma hit the west coast of Florida on Sunday, it was still plenty nasty on the east coast.
Watertown native Alex Weldon-Scott is hunkering down with friends and family in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
7 News spoke with her Sunday afternoon.
She said power had been on and off all day and they lost it again around 4:30 p.m.
"That was, I think, the third time today," she said. "We're hoping that it goes back on. We do have a generator, but we'll just see what happens. It's gonna get worse before it gets better, that's for sure."
Weldon-Scott says on top of waiting out the hurricane, they've also had several tornado warnings.
