United Community Center is gearing up for an endurance race called "Last Warrior Standing."

It will be held at Indian River High School's field and track on Sunday, October 1 at 1 p.m.

Bryn Durgin and Michael Adams appeared on 7 News at Noon on Tuesday to talk about the event. Click on the picture to watch their interview.

Registration is open through September 17.

The race is open to men, women and children of all levels and costs $30 per runner (t-shirt included).

In each round, participants complete 1 mile (4 laps) at whatever pace they choose, but must finish within the allotted amount of time per round. Rounds start at 15 minutes and decrease by 1 minute each round.

The race continues in this format until there is only one runner left standing - the winner!

The event benefits United Community Center, helping bring events and programming catered to every member of the community.
