Volunteers Cooking Up A Storm For Italian Festival
It's a big draw at the Bravo Italiano Festival in Watertown - the food.
Volunteers are in the kitchen all week preparing Italian dishes for the this weekend's festivities.
On Wednesday, they were cooking up meatballs in homemade sauce, making tripe and clam sauce and preparing 270 pounds of Italian sausage.
"The sausage torpedo is a booth that's very busy. It's non-stop out there because, you know, people want to go for something. It's not a piece of sausage you're buying at the store. It's homemade sausage, cooked by the people that made it," said Toni Manarina, who's cooking food.
The festival kicks off Friday at the Italian-American Civic Association on Bellew Ave in Watertown at 5 p.m.
