Black River Home Escapes Damage From Lightning Strike

Posted: Updated:

One family had their night turned upside down when a storm rolled in Wednesday night.

Lightning struck a house Wednesday night on County Route 143 in the village of Black River.

The call came in shortly after 9 p.m. Multiple fire crews were on scene.

Felts Mills Fire Chief Guy Manor says there was no fire inside the home and no one was hurt.

"Basically a house was hit by lightning and very little damage considering," he said.

Crews inspected the home from the roof.

Manor says the lightning bolt hit a tree and traveled up into the home from the ground.
