A special prosecutor has been appointed in the case of a Massena man accused of killing his roommate last year.
Attorney Gary Miles was appointed to prosecute 51 year old Keith Bjork for second-degree murder.
Bjork is accused of killing 50 year old Damar Buckner at their home at 192 Center Street in Massena in October 2016.
A special prosecutor is needed because of a conflict the St. Lawrence County district attorney's office has with the case.
DA Mary Rain said she was the county's chief public defender in 2010 when her office represented Bjork in a criminal contempt case.
Miles has served as district attorney for both Jefferson and St. Lawrence counties.
The trial date is set for November 27.
