An elementary school in Massena went into a lockout for about 30 minutes Wednesday morning, according to a statement issued by district Superintendent Patrick Brady.
He said Madison Elementary School took the action as a precaution based on information the district received about an issue with one of its families. There was no direct threat made against the school.
During a lockout, no one is allowed to enter the building but the school continues its normal routines other than outside activities.
Local law enforcement officials were involved and the lockout was lifted after approximately 30 minutes once police said the issue had been resolved.
