Three state troopers who were stationed in the Watertown area now have new jobs.
The promotions were announced by state police Troop D, which covers Jefferson and Lewis counties, along with much of central New York.
Maj. Mary Clark, a 31-year veteran of the force, will head the statewide Community Narcotics Enforcement Team. She has held various posts in Troop D and Troop B, which covers St. Lawrence County and much of the Adirondacks.
Lt. Timothy Roberts has served in Carthage, Watertown, Lowville, Ray Brook and North Syracuse. He will now work as a BCI investigator at Troop D headquarters in Oneida.
Lt. Robert Simpson was promoted from sergeant. He leads the Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team, which responds to incidents involving weapons of mass destruction and clandestine drug labs. He was commander of the Watertown station.
