Races We're Following On Election Day

Posted: Updated:

In Watertown you'll see 4 candidates on the ballot while one runs a write-in campaign.

It's been a city council race dominated by the city's fire department.

The challengers are Lisa Ruggiero, Ryan Henry-Wilkinson and Cliff Olney.

They're up against incumbent Teresa Macaluso as well as her fellow incumbent, Steve Jennings, who lost in the primary, but is pushing hard for write-in votes.

The race for city judge has been a hot one too, with current judge, Cathy Palermo, facing Anthony Neddo.

This is the first election for Watertown's second judge seat.

The position used to be part-time, which meant it was by appointment.

Now that it's full-time, the candidates must be voted on.

In St. Lawrence County, the district attorney race is between Republican Gary Pasqua and Democrat Jim Monroe.

The winner will replace controversial DA Mary Rain, who is not running for re-election.

There's also a five-way race for three open seats on the Ogdensburg City Council, five county legislature Races in Jefferson and Lewis counties as well as town supervisor and village mayor races to look out for.

Polls open at 6 a.m. Tuesday and we'll have results on 7 News at 10 on FOX and on 7 News at 11 on WWNY.
