The holiday season is just around the corner and that means it's time for the Salvation Army's annual Red Kettle Campaign.
It kicked off Wednesday with a goal of $100,000.
The money helps the group with its mission.
"We have a lot of programs here that need the funding. We have a soup kitchen that's 6 days a week, we have a food pantry, we have the children after-school program," said Major Karen Smullen of the Salvation Army in Watertown.
Last year the group came up short on its fundraising goal.
